The Philippines consists of three large parts: Luzon in the north, the Visayas in the middle of the archipelago, and in the south there is Mindanao, the “land of promise”. Cagayan de Oro City is the capital of  Misamis Oriental, a province in the central north of Mindanao; it is developping very well since a couple of years. A good connection to other large cities in the Philippines like Cebu City, Manila City and Davao City makes that spot very interesting for tourists, investors and Philippinen people.

In Mindanao, there is a lot of things to do. Camiguin Island is not any longer a secret place: it is promoted by many travel agencies because that wonderful place is probably one of the best sights in Mindanao. People are friendly and greet visitors with “Hello friend” instead of the common “Hello Joe” which is heard all over the 7107 islands. This is also true for the nice little Mantigue Island.

In Camiguin you could enjoy the famous Ardent Hot Springs which used to be as warm as about 40 ° Celsius or the Katibawasan Falls or climbing the Hibok Hibok Volcano. Diving is also good in the reefs around Camiguin Island, and there is another spot you should never leave out on a trip there: White Island. But there are many more islands to discover in Mindanao, like Siargao.

Siargao Island is located in the north-east of Mindanao and is best accessible through the airplane coming from Cebu. Another option would be to take a boat from Surigao City which might take about two or three hours. But in Siargao Island you could enjoy one of the fastest growing sports in the Philippines which is Surfing.

General Luna and the No. 1 Surfing Spot in the archipelago “Cloud Nine” are famous for great surf conditions throughout the whole year, season is from May to October. In September the International Cup takes place, when surfers from all over the world show their best tricks to win money prices.

But the island is as well perfect for island hopping, diving, exploring caves in Bucas Grande or just enjoying the breathetaking beauty of nature. In some places there are even some Philippine eagles which shows how healthy that environment still is.
